Current Competition:
In our current competition, authors were challenged to write something inspired by the picture to the right. 

The writing competition is now closed to new entries, but you can enter the Reader's Draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher, by voting and commenting on your favourite entry/entries, and finding the answers to the following five questions, which are all within the entries.

  1. What date is Percy's birthday?
  2. What's the name of the mermaid like siren that features in two entries?
  3. What type of rodent opens a hamper on one of the flights?
  4. Which famous actor's book is reference in one of the entries?
  5. 'Pinprick lights amid indigo sky' features in which entry?

How to Enter:
Email your answers to [email protected] before 21st August to be in the draw for the £50 voucher!

(Please note that the Readers' Draw is not open to any author who has an entry in the competition.)


The Prize:
In addition to a place in our Hall of Fame, the winning author will receive a beautifully presented copy of the picture with their piece of writing (or, if a longer piece, an extract from it.)

Just post your qualifying entries before the closing date and remember to add the hashtag #competition when you post them!

The Rules:
  1. The competition is open to all Pen48 members (Authors) and no purchase is necessary.
  2. The winning entry will be the qualifying entry with the most likes by the closing date.
  3. Competitions are open to UK residents only unless otherwise stated.
  4. Winners will be announced by email (using the email members used to register) and on this page.
  5. The prize is non-transferable, non refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods or services.
  6. Prizes can only be sent to a valid UK address unless otherwise stated.
  7. The Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. By entering you give permission for Pen48 to share your entry and your identity in publicity surrounding the competition and Pen48 in general.
